At Fairway we aim to give you the best possible treatments for your lawn to ensure a healthy, beautiful look, year-round. Our main way of doing that is through our 8 lawn care treatments applied every 6-8 weeks throughout the year. The following timeline is meant to show our effective treatment process for Bermuda and Zoysia lawns.
1. Winter Application (Jan-Feb)
We start the year by applying a pre-emergent herbicide to prevent crabgrass and broad-leaf weeds from germinating. This prepares turf for the spring green-up period and root development.
2. Early Spring Application (Mar-Apr)
Another pre-emergent herbicide is applied to your turf to extend the protection period and to strengthen the pre-emergent barrier. Fertilizer is applied at a higher rate to ensure a quicker, stronger green-up.
3. Mid-Spring Application (Apr-May)
A third pre-emergent herbicide is applied to your turf to further protect your lawn from weed breakthrough. A balanced high-nitrogen fertilizer is applied to ensure a continual greening throughout the lawn.
4. Late-Spring Application (May-June)
A slow release fertilizer is applied with balanced ingredients to help maintain the color and growth of your lawn going into the summer months.
5. Early Summer Application (June-July)
A slow release high nitrogen fertilizer is applied with a supplemental liquid iron to darken the grass color and maintain healthy growth.
6. Late Summer Application (Aug-Sept)
A slow release high nitrogen fertilizer is applied with a supplemental iron treatment to maintain color and healthy growth.
7. Early Fall Application (Oct-Nov)
A specialized pre-emergent is applied to prevent all winter weeds including poa annua. This treatment is completed throughout the dormancy period.
8. Late Fall Application (Nov-Dec)
A granular dolomite lime is applied to the lawn to prepare the soil's pH and to neutralize acidic soil conditions. This soil conditioning leads to better performance of the lawn throughout the warm season.
Weed control is applied every visit to keep your lawn looking healthy and weed-free all year. If you are not satisfied with the treatment or simply need some extra help, we will come back to re-treat at no additional cost.
